Q: I have lost my keys. Is this a problem?

A: No, we are fully trained to gain entry.

Q: Do you need an MOT certificate?

A: No, your vehicle will not be going back on the road.

Q: Can I get a refund for the road tax I’ve paid on the vehicle?

A: Yes, for every full month you can get a refund. You need V14 from Post Office or download from DVLA website. Make sure to copy details form V5c exactly. If you make a mistake the DVLA will decline a refund.

Q: Do you collect on weekends or evenings?

A: Yes, we can collect at a time that suits you.

Q: What area do you cover?

A: London, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire,

Q: How quickly can I expect you to arrive?

A: Normally within 24 hours, but same day/evening is possible.

Q: What paper work will you need from me?

A: Your V5c Registration Document also know as log book We also need additional identification eg: driving license, passport or a current utility/rent/council tax  bill.

Q: Can we see your identification / licensing?

A: Yes, we are required to carry it by law and will show on request.

Q: I have lost my V5c registration document. Is this a problem?

A: No, as  a  licensed Motor Salvage Operator   we must ask you for additional identification by law, to Scrap cars you must be licensed   Please remember if you have lost your V5c log book you still need to notify the DVLA in writing if you fail to do so they will fine you.

Q: I have a private registration number. Can I keep it?

A:  You will require the V317 document, do not dispose of the vehicle until this has been approved.You can get it from the post office or download it from DVLA

Q: I want to keep my radio, recently fitted new tyre’s or alloy wheels.

A: We can remove your radio without any problems. We can also save you tyre’s and wheels, but you will be required to collect them within three days or they will be recycled.

Q: I have taken parts from the vehicle, is this okay?

A: Yes, just let us know the details on the request form.

Q: Will you supply me with a certificate of destruction?

A: Yes, we will post the certificate of Destruction (COD) to you. Alternatively it can be collected in person. It is only issued by our  Scrap car facility after the vehicle has been crushed.

Q: Will I get a receipt?

A: Yes, as your vehicle is scrap it then becomes waste. Therefore, by law we must supply you with a waste transfer note. It will contain details of the vehicle and details and our details. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in a £160 fine for both parties.

Q: Do I need to notify the DVLA?

A: Yes. It’s your responsibility to send off section 9. We recommend that you make a copy on file and send it by special delivery. Await confirmation from the DVLA that you are no longer responsible for the vehicle.

Q: Do you notify the DVLA?

A: Yes. When we surrender the V5c log book this is when the certificate of destruction is generated.

Q:  Can you remove abandoned cars?

A: Yes. Please contact us by phone if you have this problem.

Q: When will you contact us to confirm collection?

A: Normally within 1 hour of receiving the request, between 8am and 10pm.

Q: My vehicle does not start and access is restricted, can you collect it?

A: Although our vehicles are large we have many different methods and have no failed yet.

Q: Will you pay for my vehicle?

A: Yes. We are paying a fixed price of £70.00 per scrap vehicle.

 Q: Will you do the paper work for me?

A: Yes. However, as we have mentioned it is your responsibility to send section 9 of the V5c log book to the DVLA. You will just have to sign section 9 of the V5c and we will do the rest. We will guarantee to pay for any fines relating to your vehicle that occur after we have removed it.
